How Link and Blog Began

Once upon a time there was a group of blogs. The group of blogs was a diverse group with some veteran blogs and there were new blogs on the blog block too. One day one of the new blogs on the blog block, Tammara Blog was all alone and said; “I’m not feeling very good. I think I have come down with a terrible case of the Blog Blahg Blues! :-( I’m having such a time with developing back links that I fear all other blogs will think I’m spineless (pun intended)! In order to be a healthy blog I really need to get supported by some good back links, or I’ll forever have the Blahg Blues from a lack of good verterbrae! What’s a good blog to do?”

Later on back with the group of blogs, Tammara Blog noticed the other blogs were asking one another for good back links. Suddenly she felt a spark of hope that she would no longer appear spineless, but then her excitement was quickly quenched as she thought; “Hmm, I just don’t see how my blog is going to be able to link to any of these other blogs on my blog block, in that we are not in the same sort of family. For good search engine optimization, I really need to find some other blogs that are at least somewhat related or the spider bot won’t like us very well, nor will our fans.”The next day Tammara Blog was contacted by another fairly new blog on the block, Antha Blog, and like her she too had a case of Blahg Blues in that she also lacked adequate back links. Antha Blog wanted to trade back links, but neither of their blogs shared similar or relevant topics. Tammara Blog turned down Antha Blogs invitation to trade links, but with much reluctance.

Tammara Blog began to think things through once again. Suddenly with new hope she said to herself, “Wait a minute! Although our blogs are not the same category or subject matter, surely there must be a way to create posts to make them correlate! Then we could trade links or give one way back links to various posts that link our subjects together. It would require some creativity in order to compose posts to relate to another blog, which is normally considered to be of a non-related subject-matter, but that would be a very fun challenge! The result would be new inspiration by interacting with other blogs, interesting reading for our fans, and it would be appealing to the spider bot too! So all we need to do is gather a large group of blogs together that want to link and blog, and link and blog, all the day long!”

With new enthusiasm she contacted Antha Blog who had previously invited her to link their blogs. In an apologetic tone she said to Antha Blog, “I’m sorry for turning down your prior invitation to link our blogs, but it was my understanding that it would be best to have related subject matters or sites, and I just didn’t see how our blogs could possibly be linked since they don’t have anything in common.” Antha Blog then replied, “There’s no need for apologies. I completely understand your logic and the need for the sites to relate.”

Then Tammara Blog continued, “I came up with an idea as to how we could link your Popcorn and Twizzlers blog to my Tall Sails Adventure blog! If you like the idea, Antha Blog, you could compose a post on your blog about the Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man’s Chest movie, and I would write a post about pirates. Our posts about pirates would create a correlation between our two blogs, and we could exchange permalinks within those posts! There’s our relevant link, Antha Blog! Well, my blog goodness! There is a way to link a movie review blog with a sailing adventure blog! :-)

Suddenly, the creativity was flowing from both Tammara Blog and Antha Blog, and they couldn’t wait to get started. After Tammara Blog shared the idea with some other blogs on the blog block the idea began to quickly catch on and they too began to interact with one another to apply the Link and Blog Challenge. We’ll be sharing those stories as well!

Although blogs are of course not human, the story above is true with how Link and Blog began. We are excited to have the opportunity to create a network for those who love to blog. Our goal is to enthusiastically create an environment where those who blog can creatively be inspired to write new posts by and through the communication and interaction of other bloggers. We hope you will decide to register with us to experience the Link and Blog Challenge with us!
