Have you overlooked an important priority on your “things to do” list for blogging? It’s certainly easy to do as you probably already know. Today I discovered something that I thought I had done for my blog months ago, only to discover I had not! It must have been one of those days when I instead took a rabbit trail and got sidetracked!
In that I forgot to do this, I’m sure there are some of you who may have forgotten to do this important step! Did you remember to add your blog to Google’s Blog Search Engine? As I mentioned, months ago I intended to do this, yet I discovered today I had not! I did it for my other blogs, but of all blogs to miss I missed submitting this one!
To make it convenient for you I’ve added the link to Google’s Blog Search Engine in our SEO BlogMaster Tools list, which I’ve been updating from time to time. Just follow the link to the post and you will see the link for the Google Blog Search Engine.
I thought I would share this question a gal asked in a forum, and what my reply was. She asked;
My blog ranks in Google’s first page of results for two keywords, which aren’t included in my meta tags. They’re just merely words I’ve used in two separate posts before, and alone don’t reflect much of what my blog is all about.
This was my reply to her question.

One of our readers asked a very good question today, and I would like to share her question and what my response was. At first glance you may think her question is very simple, but I feel it certainly indicates she is very wise in that she is wanting to exercise caution when linking. As a new blogger, she in my opinion, is quite smart for recognizing that importance!

Are you posting any news topics on your blogs? If not, you may want to consider doing so! If you are like me you may be thinking, “Why do I want to post news topics on my blog? People can go anywhere on the Internet to read the latest scoop on the news for the day!” That was exactly the way I felt as I entered the world of blogging, so I never placed any breaking news topics on my blogs.
Suddenly, at the close of 2006 I learned my way of thinking was terribly wrong. My failure to place breaking news on my blogs resulted in a huge traffic restraint, which I was not aware of! Have you placed the same traffic restraint upon your blogs with the same attitude?

What is your blog all about, and from which keywords do you want to drive traffic to your blog? I’ll be the first to admit I’m not an expert, but I’ve learned some tips about keywords by watching the results from organic traffic to my blogs.
A primary place to make sure your posts contain your keywords or phrase is within your post title. When someone does a search for a specific keyword or phrase you have a much greater chance of them landing on your blog if it is contained within your post title.
You can run a simple test on your blog using that strategy by simply publishing numerous posts containing your targeted key word or phrase within your post title, and see where you end up in Google Rankings or by watching your organic traffic referrals.

If you’re new to the world of blogging, blogmaster or webmaster topics, you won’t want to miss learning about the topic of page rank, and link popularity. So, what exactly is page rank?
Essentially page rank is a scoring method, which determines how popular your site is on the Internet. However, many people do not realize that page rank is not quite as important as it was in the past since Google has changed it’s algorithms. More on Page Rank and Link Popularity
