If you’re wanting to start blogging, but you don’t feel ready to jump into your own domain, web hosting and all the bells and whistles that go along with having your own domain, you may wish to give Blogger a try.
With Blogger you’re able to monetize a blog, at least at what I consider to be an entry level, which you really can’t complain about it in that their blogging platform is free. To get you started with Blogger, here’s a quick video to get going with the basics of signing on with Blogger.com.
One of my blogging friends Dennis mentioned on his blog that Blogger added the ability to easily add the Adsense codes into posts. This is in regards to those of you who are making use of the newer Blogger templates, which are widget ready.
From the illustration you can see how easy it is to add Adsense into your Blogger posts!
Simple go to the “Page Elements” section in your Blogger admin panel and then select “edit” in the lower right corner of the blog post widget.
The next screen (not shown) provides color selections for your Google Adsense advertisements, and the ad formats to select from for placement within your blog posts.
Not sure what the best colors are for your ads? It’s simple! Select the colors that blend in with your template the best. You will see in the Blogger screen beyond the “edit” button that Blogger will show you your template colors so you can select the ones to blend best with your template.
I suggest that you pick the same background color as your template, and the same text colors as your blog posts text. The more the colors blend with your template the greater your chances of someone clicking through an advertisement as it appears to be more of a natural link, and less like an advertisement. That’s it! You’re done!
You’ll want to be sure to head on over to Dennis’ blog to learn some great tips and tools for Internet marketing, but I don’t yet have a link to provide because his site is undergoing some renovations! Thanks Dennis for sharing that new Blogger tip on your blog.
Blogger’s blogging platform has been making some changes recently by adding some new features. Did you notice any of those changes in your Blogger dashboard? Here’s a quick lowdown on one feature they recently added.
From your Blogger WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor, you now have the ability to upload your homemade videos directly into your blog! Here’s how to do it.
Open your screen to add a new blog post and in the WYSIWYG editor you will see a new button on the right side. Click the button and the screen to upload your video will appear. Here’s what to look for:
Once you have clicked to add your video, then you will see the screen to allow you to upload your homemade video directly into your blog post! Here’s how:
That wasn’t hard at all! The difficult part is the time and energy to create the video, but it’s nice to have a way to upload them directly into your Blogger post without the need of using a third party provider. The possibilities are endless when you can add your own videos into your blog so easily.
