Blogging to Relieve Stress!

Blogging is a great stress reliever! On the other hand, some may say it causes a great deal of stress – lol. I completely agree that during the times when things go awry technically speaking, that blogging can get a bit nerve-racking, but then again that’s not any different with many other endeavors in life.

It’s interesting to read what others say about blogging. I have to laugh when I read about others blogging at crazy hours, and how blogging becomes an obsession for some. As for me, well I’m also a blogging addict! Is that any surprise? :D

Widget Blog Templates

Spring cleaning was in order so we could update our blog template to a widget ready design. Although we liked our prior colors and design the old template was not widget ready and it would have required too much work to attempt to get it in order.

As they say, “Out with the old, and in with the new!” so we hope you like our new template. The header is not anything to blog about at the moment, but we’ll be working on improving that soon.

Happy Blogging! :D

Bored With Blogging?

Blogging requires a great deal of thought, planning, and emotional involvement. We all face times when we need a change of pace or a break from a routine. That includes blogging since it is a routine for most of us. Have you found yourself bored with blogging and frustrated? Have you experienced writers block? Here are some tips, which might help you get through a “bored with blogging” phase.

  • Get away from the computer for a change of pace and to refresh your blogging senses. Go inhale some fresh air!
  • Take a trip on over to other blogs and read what they’re excited about and comment on their blog posts to feel a part of a different environment.
  • Realize you’re only human and remember the old saying, “Momma told me there would be days like these!”
  • Stop beating yourself up for what your blog is or isn’t. Comparing your blog to another blogger isn’t fair to yourself. Blogs are as unique as each individual.
  • Get involved in a community such as Link & Blog Challenge to gain some fresh inspiration for your blogs, and to gain some new link love.
  • Start a new blog! Perhaps it’s time to broaden your horizons.
  • Give your existing blogs a face lift with a new template or change things around.
  • Post on some message boards to get rejuvenated by the excitement from other bloggers so you can get going again.
  • Realize that it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks about your blog if you’re happy with it.
  • Ask the opinion of other bloggers to critique your blog, but only if you want a different perspective. Be sure you toughen up your blog skin (pun intended) before you ask for corrective criticism.
  • Pat yourself on the back for what you’ve accomplished so far.
  • If you’re wanting to earn money from your blog remember that it takes time, and don’t be disappointed if you don’t earn anything from it right away.

Now that you’ve finished reading these tips be sure to go kick up your feet and relax some so you don’t feel so stressed out about being bored with blogging. Tomorrow is a new day and chances are fresh blogging inspiration will hit you when the sun shines upon your face! :D

Blogging About Blogging!

Blogging certainly didn’t take long to catch on. If we think about blogging it’s also very healthy as we have an opportunity to share our thoughts, opinions and information, which can also be very helpful to others.

One of my favorite things I’ve enjoyed about blogging is the fact that it brings people together from all walks of life, all countries and corners of the world. I find it fascinating to meet other bloggers and read what they like to blog about.

As an example, our newest member wrote about blogging for her first Link & Blog Challenge, and I found it fun to read her post about blogging. At the same time I had a good laugh looking at the comic she included in her post about blogging. Be sure to read her post about blogging for yet another perspective of blogging!

This post was inspired by a Link & Blog Challenge!

The Blog Challenge for Monday

…is all about MeMe, which is the least favorite thing for me to write about, but the rules are to share 3 – 5 points about myself for our MeMe Monday blog challenge on Link & Blog Challenge so here goes!

  • I guess you could say I “fell” into blogging. In October 2005 I fell down our stairway and broke both bones in my writing wrist, which had to be surgically set. Unable to write by hand it was good to be able to use the computer keyboard, and since the injury changed the course of my work life I had to find something to do as I healed. With that came the interest in blogging, and once I got started I got hooked! :D
  • In addition to blogging, I also grew fond of participating in forums. It’s fun and a wonderful learning experience to converse with other people in forums.
  • May is actually one of my favorite months of the year! It seems to be the best month of spring in my geographical area, and the sign of the warmer months to follow.

If you are a member of Link & Blog Challenge it’s time for you to participate in MeMe Monday too! Now you can read what another member of Link & Blog Challenge shared for her MeMe Monday blog challenge post!

Creative blog authors work hard to write interesting topics and information, which make up their blog posts. Without creativity blogs would be boring and not provide any quality information.

Like any other writer needing to protect their literary works, bloggers are also faced with the same need to protect their creative works of writing. There are some basic steps one can take to help protect their work as a writer. Bloggers are faced with the same concerns as any other author of creative works.

One common understanding for most people is the fact that we have copyrights to help protect our creative works. However, there are other times our works are vulnerable as a writer.

Normally for a blogger our creative works of writing are simply posted through the dashboard of the blogging platform in which we work. However, as an author of other literary works have you ever thought about the fact that you may have an additional need to protect your authorship?

I’m referring to the times when you may need to submit your creative works through email. Did you ever stop to think about the fact that anything you transfer through email is vulnerable? In fact anything you transfer through email can easily be cracked by those who know the codes to do so.

I thought this service might be of interest to you as an author if you were wanting peace of mind when you transfer data including your creative works through an email. It’s called, SecureZip. Working together with your Microsoft Outlook application, SecureZip encrypts your data for secure transfer and you would not need to be concerned about authored creative works possibly being compromised before they reach their proper destination.

If you were to author some creative works and provide exclusive publishing rights to another party and in turn were also being paid a nice chunk of change to do so, you would want that data protected and secured as it is transferred through email. Otherwise, that data can be compromised if the data were intercepted by hackers before it reached it’s proper destination. Using proper data security is important.

There’s a reason they refer to it as, “SecureZIP – The next generation of ZIP!” Zipped data transferred securely may not seem to be a need for you as an author, but it is a need you may want to consider for transferring your personal data in a secure manner.

If you’re like me you’re also cautious about protecting your blog posts by making sure you create back-up copies of your blogs and blog posts. You can also use the SecureZip program to protect your data saved on your hard drive!

If you want to protect your creative works or any other data while transferring it within an email, and also protect your works while stored on your hard drive, you may want to check out what SecureZip offers you at: www.securezip.com and especially because it is free to use their service!

WordPress Blogging

The other day one of my readers asked me if this site has the “no follow” attribute disabled for the comment section. WordPress is a great blogging platform, but in an attempt to try to slow down the spammers they changed their platform I believe back when version 2.0 first came out. At that time they added the “no follow” attribute to the comment portion of the script to try to discourage the spammers.

Unfortunately since the prolific spammers use robots they don’t care how much time it takes to spam thousands of blogs, and they are betting on the fact that they will hit enough that don’t use the no follow attribute, comment moderation or spam protection.

There are numerous ones you can choose from to accomplish that task so when your readers comment the robots will follow. Wordpress for blogging and for commenting is still a great platform, but sometimes you simply need to tweak some things with plugins. Thanks Digi for asking me if I had disabled the no follow attribute! :D
