If you’re new to the world of blogging, blogmaster or webmaster topics, you won’t want to miss learning about the topic of page rank, and link popularity. So, what exactly is page rank?

Essentially page rank is a scoring method, which determines how popular your site is on the Internet. However, many people do not realize that page rank is not quite as important as it was in the past since Google has changed it’s algorithms.

The reason for the change? Google discovered some were able to manipulate their page rank so Google lowered the value of page rank within their algorithms. Link popularity has become more important, but not in regards to links simply placed within your sidebar.

Link popularity has the greatest weight in Google’s algorithm when the links are within content and they lead to relevant content. That’s another reason why you want to become successful at participating in the creation of a Link & Blog Challenge today!

Although Google doesn’t put as much weight on page rank as they use to, I would still like to commend our members who have obtained page rank! As for the rest of us, don’t get too depressed if your site does not yet have page rank! Building relevant links within content will get you to the top of your class before you know it.

One of our members known as “wachit”, recently did a post on her blog in regards to page rank. Take a look at Susan’s Spa and read what she has to say in regards to page rank with her blog. Also, if you have page rank and would like to write a post about it on your blog let me know and I’ll share your story with our readers too!

Now speaking of a Link & Blog Challenge, essentially Susan (wachit) and I just completed a Link & Blog Challenge by linking this post to her relevant post about page rank! I asked her to take some time to write a post on her blog about page rank to link this post to. Since she essentially completed a challenge by doing so, her blog deserves to be added to our blog roll! Thanks Susan for your post to inspire our other members!
