Link Importance

Building links with relevancy has significant importance. Receiving incoming links from sites with page rank is of course everyones dream, but linking with relevancy is also a very beneficial focus, and why Link & Blog began. If you haven’t already been over there, the Google webmaster help center features some great advice for link building.

Here are some key points covered by their guidelines, which you can find here.

  1. Links help search engine robots to find your site, and can give your site greater visibility in search results.
  2. Google uses algorithms which distinguish natural links from unnatural links. Natural links are developed when other sites find your content valuable and helpful for their visitors. Only natural links are useful for the indexing and ranking of your site.
  3. Unnatural links to your site, which were established specifically to make your site look more popular to search engines are not beneficial.

When you select a link partner to challenge be sure you keep those points in mind. Focus on building “natural links” with relevancy when you and your link partner determine what your Link & Blog Challenge will be.

Since natural links are important determine how you can build relevancy within your post topics, which contain your links. This is very important, and especially if your blogs are not normally in the same type of topic category.

Linking to a specific post permalink with relevancy will always provide greater benefits than simply exchanging links within a sidebar. If you keep those points in mind your Link & Blog Challenge experience with your link partner will have far greater benefits for you and your readers.
